More about Malaika
Malaika is made up of three young, extremely talented musicians and singers from South Africa. Their debut album in 2005 hit multiple platinum status which is unequalled in the history of South African pop music! Their second album received as much praise and they have a huge fan base in Southern Africa. Audiences cannot get enough!
Malaika is a perfect blend of post-kwaito, post-mbaqanga and neo-soul, that is the quintessence of Nu Afro-pop, unashamedly melodic, harmonious, always attempting to be soulful, a good dollop of singing and musicianship. The trio consists of Bongani Nchanga, Jabu Ndaba, and the astonishing heavenly voice of Tshedi Mholo. They have skillfully moulded English back into the mix of a black South African pop, making their music accessible to any audience.
